New Editor in Chief for JEAHIL

JEAHIL are looking for an Editor-in-Chief to be responsible for, together with the editorial board, and under the guidance of EAHIL’s executive board, defining the strategy of the journal, and managing the
production of Journal of EAHIL (JEAHIL). The responsibilities of an Editor in Chief include convening
board meetings, planning issue publishing in advance, chairing the board, and allocating its tasks,
contributing to editorial pieces, and managing day-to-day operations. At times also reviewing articles
and photographs.
To be successful as an Editor in Chief, you should demonstrate accurate writing skills, possess good
judgment, and great attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch editor in chief should have good
creativity, and be able to work well within the editorial board. The Editor in Chief need to have a
proficiency in the English language. Of course you need to be a member of EAHIL.
The Editor-in-Chief´s responsibilities is to:
• Convene editorial board meetings and keep the board updated via email or meetings
• Evaluate content and make decisions on appropriateness for the publication
• Act as a representative for the publication internally and towards external partners
• Write the annual JEAHIL report together with the Co-Editor in Chief
• Take responsibility for the financial soundness of the journal
• Be Co-opted member at Executive Board of EAHIL as an observer
• Contribute to the recruiting of authors for journal issues
• Develop the success of and promote the publication
• Assign issues to board members as responsible editors
• Confirm topics and annual guest editor (no theme) with the board for the upcoming year
• Oversee the publishing process per issue together with the Co-Editor in Chief
Editor in Chief Requirements:
• Demonstrable interest in publishing and scholarly communication
• Previous experience as author of scientific papers
• Good interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail as well as a holistic perspective
• Good decision-making skills
• Coaching leadership skills
• Fluency in English
